Srisailam Hydel Power Project works going on at brisk pace

Hyderabad : Telangana Genco and Transco Chairman and Managing Director D Prabhakar Rao has informed that the works of Srisailam Hydel Power Project, which was damaged during the recent fire accident, were going on a fast track.

As on date, two units were revived and 300 MW of power was generated. By December end, one more unit would be ready for power generation. By March 2021, two more units would come into operation.

The works on the fourth unit, which was damaged the most in the accident, would be completed by June. Generator and transformers for the fourth unit were getting installed. By June, all the units would be ready and 900 MW of power would be generated by the reversible pumping methods, Prabhakar Rao said, while inspecting works at the project site on Wednesday.

He explained that works were going at brisk pace with an aim to generate 900 MW of power in six units through reversible pumping method by rainy season.
