Stage set for another industrial revolution in Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: As already Hyderabad and Warangal cities are reckoned as the leading industrial clusters in Telangana, in addition to these two cities, now the state government is focusing on erstwhile Mahbubnagar district to make it the third major industrial hub in the State.

Moving in this direction, recently the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) is said to have prepared proposals for setting up new industrial parks in the newly formed districts of Wanaparthy and Gadwal.

Earlier, in erstwhile Mahbubnagar district, Kottur, Shadnagar and Jadcherla have been housing major industries as these areas are just in the range of less than 100 kms from the city of Hyderabad. However, after bifurcation of the old Mahbubnagar district in to 5 new districts and a few areas are merged with Rangareddy district, except industries in Jadcherla and Balanagar areas, majority of them have gone to Ranga Reddy district.

With this, Mahbubnagar which was earlier regarded as industrial hub has now lost its tag with Kottur and Shadnagar areas gone to Rangareddy district after reorganisation of the districts. In view of the above reality, the State government is now focusing on establishing at least one industrial park in the newly formed district.

As part of this, the State government has directed officials to prepare proposals to establish two industrial parks in Wanaparthy and Gadwal districts to begin with. A part from these two districts based on the demand and requirement industrial parks in Narayanpet and Nagarkurnool districts will also be taken up in the later stages.

It is reminded here, that earlier also the State government had tried to establish industrial parks in these two districts in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, but due to unknown reasons it could not be taken up.

After the formation of Telangana, the State government has already started its plans for setting up industries in the back ward areas of Mahbubnagar, however, after the districts reorganisation the need for establishing new industries has further pitched up.

Recently, the government officials from industries and TSIIC had inspected various areas in Gadwal and Wanaparthy districts to identify government private lands. According to industries department officials, the TSIIC is looking out for large extent of areas of at least about 300-1000 acres of land for setting up industrial parks.

As per the information from the Industries department, the TSIIC has proposed to set up an Auto Nagar on the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway in Mahbubnagar district. For this, the TSIIC officials are planning to acquire about 500 acres in the district. Already the district has parks one in Mettuguda in Mahbubnagar town and Jadcherla.

Adding to this the recently announced IT Park which is already under construction at Edira village in the district is about to begin as the land acquisition process has concluded. In addition to these two parks, the TSIIC is also now considering establishing two new industrial parks in Gadwal and Wanaparthy.

For this the TSIIC has sent proposals to the government and the industries officials are looking out to find apt place for the same in both the district. "Mahbubnagar has a huge industrial potential, however, earlier governments neglected this district, because of which many people migrated to other cities for lively hood.

With the establishment of new industrial Parks in the new districts we are expecting at least an employment generation for 10,000 people," said Srinivas Goud, Minister for Excise and Prohibition.
