Warangal: State to help victims families: Vinay Bhaskar

Warangal: Government Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar and Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said the State government will help all the families of the victims those who died in the boat mishap in River Godavari near Kachaluru under Devipatnam mandal in East Godavari district a couple of days ago. The duo who visited Kadipikonda to console the families of victims assured them of all possible help from the State government.

Vinay said the State government had announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the families of those who lost their lives in the boat tragedy. He said that the district administration had sent ambulances and revenue officials to Rajahmundry and they have been coordinating with the victims' families.

He said that five survivors are being treated at a private hospital in Hanamkonda and the administration is taking care of them. While two bodies have already been handed over to their families on Tuesday, the bodies of other three are expected to arrive on Wednesday, he said.

The Chief Whip said whereabouts of Basike Rajendraprasad, Basike Dharmaraju, Konduru Raj Kumar and Kommu Ravi are yet to be traced. Vinay said that almost all the victims are members of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the kin of those who died in the mishap were entitled to get ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the party. This apart, six of the victims have insurance cover of Rs 6.30 lakh each under unorganised sector.
