Stern action against traders overcharging essential goods: Mahmood Ali

"Take stern action against traders and shopkeepers those who found selling essential goods at high prices in the state," Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali told the police while addressing to media here on Tuesday.

"The police were put on alert and will take action on the black marketers if they found selling the commodities at exorbitant prices. Grocery stores and vegetable vendors will remain open and their trucks will be not stopped," the minister said adding that they have accorded permission to the trucks carrying essential goods to move in the city.

The minister visited LB Nagar in Hyderabad to review the arrangements made by the Rachakonda police to curb the spread of coronavirus. He asked the people to cooperate with the government by staying at home.

"Free rice and Rs 1,500 will be given to all the white ration card holders," said the minister.
