Rajanna Sircilla: Strive hard to make Jala Shakthi Abhiyan a success in district
Rajanna Sircilla: District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar here on Thursday directed the officials to take up various types of Jala Samrakshan programmes in all the villages that are present across the district under Jala Shakthi Abhiyan. He instructed that the district must be placed on top position in the State in Jala Shakthi Abhiyan programme.
A meeting was held to create awareness about Jala Shakthi Abhiyan Programme with public representatives of Thungalapalli, Konaraopet and Mustabad mandals and officials of concern departments along with MPDOs, APOs, ECs, FAs and secretaries under District and Rural Development Authority here at Padmanayaka Function hall in Rajanna Sircilla district.
Speaking at the meeting, Krishna Bhaskar instructed the Jala Shakthi Abhiyan team that several measures such as construction of check dams, restoration of lakes and tanks, roof top water harvesting, water sheds, traditional methods of harvesting rain water, construction of percolation tanks, soaking pits in front of yards of houses, trenching on hill and slope areas along with construction of farm ponds, planting of saplings etc., must be taken up for harvesting the water in the district. Representative of Jala Shakthi Abhiyan Shekar Das said the programme must be implemented on a massive scale to harvest the water as the ground water levels are decreasing day-by-day in many regions of the country. All sections of people irrespective of caste and religion, young and old, children and women must participate in the programme and must make it successful.
Nodal Officer Anurag Sehgal, District and Rural Development Officer B Ravinder, FRO Venu Gopal, DPO Ravinder, ZPTCs, MPPs, MPTCs, Sarpanchs of three mandals were present along with other officials.
