Successive polls cause nightmares to MLAs
Vikarabad: The successive elections have given a nightmare to the MLAs. They have been under severe pressure for the past three months after they were given the responsibility of winning the elections. Panchayat elections came immediately after Assembly elections. The TRS leadership has given the MLAs the responsibility to win their Sarapanch candidates. They were party-free elections and were given some advantage.
Later, the election schedule for the Lok Sabha was released. It was taken prestigiously by all the parties. The MLAs were again given the responsibility of making the MP candidates for their parties win the elections. The candidates who contested for the LS seat had a maximum of 2 to 3 days in Assembly segment, and they had to work hard for nearly three weeks in the constituency.
Now, the TRS MLAs were handed over the responsibilities for the ZPTC and MPTC elections, along with the responsibility of selecting candidates. The MLAs are responsible for choosing the candidates, campaigning for them and to make them win in the elections.
The choice of candidates is not a simple affair. Many local issues have to be taken into account before finalizing the candidates. Positions of local organizations in the villages are crucial. If they fail, the impact will be seen in the legislative elections, rather than in the development processes. That is why; the legislators have to deal them carefully.
The elections for the three Zilla Parishads will be held for old Rangareddy district. The district has a total of 21 ZPTC and 257 MPTC seats. There are 4 ZPTCs and 42 MPTCs in Medchal. There are 18 ZPTCs and 221 MPTCs in Vikarabad. All the MLAs who have been elected on behalf of the TRS have to make the candidates win in these seats.
The Congress is also looking forward for the ZPTC and MPTC elections. The selection of candidates is entrusted to the constituency and the mandal party leaders. District in-charges were also appointed to monitor the elections.
Party Secretary Amarendar Reddy will be the coordinator, along with Tandur MLA Rohith Reddy for the Vikarabad district. Javvadi Indira Rao will be the coordinator, along with Kuna Srisailam Goud, for the Malkajigiri district. Ranga Reddy district will be coordinated by DCC president Challa Narasimha Reddy and party secretary Jagdishwar Rao.
