Sudden rains throw cold water on poll arrangements
Jadcherla: Due to sudden downpour in Jadcherla, the arrangements made by the district administration for the upcoming parliamentary elections at a local degree college were totally spoilt as the tents which were erected for the poll staff and poll equipment stocking fell to the ground on Tuesday.
With this sudden havoc created by the rains, District Collector Ronald Rose, along with special officer Kranti visited the spot and immediately directed the officials to make alternative arrangements. Earlier, the district administration has selected the Degree College Grounds as the major supply point of poll equipments and allocation of staff to various polling stations across the district. From here the polling staff will take the equipment such as EVMs, VVPATs and others to their respective polling stations and later on after completion of the elections will return to this point and deposit them.
With the rains playing spoilsport, the District Collector asked the officials to shift all the equipment to another building and directed them to make all arrangements in advance and get ready for the polling without any delay.
