Suryapet comes alive with plantation of 1 lakh saplings in a day

Suryapet: Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy stated that trees symbolise the progress of the State and urged everyone to take part in the ongoing Haritha Haram programme. The Minister on Wednesday launched one lakh saplings plantation drive under mass Haritha Haram programme in B Chandupatla, Timmavaram, Modinpuram villages of Chivemla mandal in the district . As part of planting 5.50 lakh saplings in Suryapet Assembly constituency, on Wednesday he examined the plantation of 1,600 saplings from B Chandupatla to Timmapuram covering a stretch of 4 km by walk.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said trees were assets that would be presented to future generations. Stating that the thought of planting saplings as the duty of Forest department had pushed the present society into deep troubles, Jagadish informed that by planting and protecting saplings, healthy environment sans pollution would be provided to future generations.

It is duty of everyone to plant and protect trees for a better society, he underlined.

Zilla Parishad chairman Gujja Deepika, Collector Amoy Kumar, MPP Daravath Kumari, ZPTC Bukya Sanjeeva Naik, villagers and students took part in large numbers.
