Suryapet: District Joint Collector Sanjeeva Reddy urges banks to lend generously to farmers
Suryapet: District Joint Collector Sanjeeva Reddy urged the bankers to extend their cooperation to farmers by sanctioning crop loans to them.
He was addressing a district-level bankers meeting held at the Collectorate on Thursday.
He instructed the district Agricultural department official Jyothirmai to submit village wise details of farmers to bankers. He expressed his ire over the bankers on sanctioning of Rs 582 crores crop loans to farmers by September 2019 against the target of Rs 1665 crores during 2019-20 fiscal year.
He questioned bankers over sanctioning of 35 percent loans to farmers in the district against the feasibly of 80 percentage loans. He suggested bankers to show the progress report with regard to sanction of Rs 157 crores loans to the Self Help Groups so far, against Rs 290 crores district target.
He exuded confidence that bankers will achieve the target of Rs 90 crores with regard to housing loans and sanction of loans to small and medium scale industries of target about Rs 280.38 crore.
He advised bankers to submit the details crop loans to district level committee and ordered LMD to inform the details of units established under departments of fisheries and animal husbandry through Kisan credit cards.
He urged bank officials to come forward to sanction loans to dairy units in the district. He directed Agriculture officials to create awareness among the villagers on State and central schemes.
