Suryapet: High Court lawyer Niharika Reddy quells apprehensions over CAA
Suryapet: High Court advocate Niharika Reddy felt that there would be no problem to any citizen of the country through the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as India continues to remain a secular country.
On Sunday, she took part in an awareness meeting held on CAA organised by Pragna Bharathi in Suryapet town. Addressing the gathering, she said every citizen is equal in the country and added that at the time of partition, India emerged as secular country whereas Pakistan took the Islamic stand.
All governments have been treating all sections of people without any discrimination since the formation of India, she said. Stating that minorities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have been suppressed, she informed that CAA would help to such refugees who came to the country before the year 2014 to get the permanent citizenship in the country.
Stating a few anti-social elements have been inciting Muslims, Dalits and other sections against the CAA, she advised people to create awareness on CAA in the interest of the country. She later questions posed by the audience. Medical College Assistant Professor Dr Smitha Reddy, Medical College Assistant Director Manju Nath Naik, Pragna Bharathi General Secretary M Rajesh Kumar, G Venkataiah, Dr Sudhir, Narsimha and others attended the meeting.
