Suryapet: Services of Jyotiba Phule to the society hailed
Suryapet: Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy called Jyotiba Phule a visionary leader, and added that all the credit goes to Phule for extending the fruits of education to lower classes of the society. On Thursday, the Minister garlanded the statue of Phule located in Suryapet town and paid rich tributes to him on the occasion of the latter's 129th death anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Reddy said that Phule was a revolutionary leader who strived for the welfare and betterment of the oppressed sections of the society. The Telangana State government is following the footsteps of Phule when it comes to extending benefits through many of its welfare schemes, the Minister underlined.
Deriving inspiration from Phule, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is working towards improving the quality of education in the State, he added.
Exemplifying free KG-to-PG education, the Minister informed that Chief Minister has strong determination to provide education to all, especially to the poor, and in this connection the government has established Gurukul schools across the State.
Party local leaders and leaders of Backward Classes organisations took part in the programme.
Similarly, Jyotiba Phule's death anniversary was observed across the erstwhile Nalgonda district where people and government officials recalled his services to the society.
