Suryapet: Woman attempts suicide at Chivemla Tahsildar's office demanding land
Chivemla (Suryapet): Demanding to hand over her land which has been occupied by others, a woman attempted to end her life by consuming pesticide at the Tahsildar office in Chivemla on Tuesday. According to sources, the woman, Natala Padma of Gumpula village of Chivemla mandal, approached the Tahsildar P Saidulu and brought her issue to his notice for necessary action.
However, she attempted suicide by consuming the pesticide that brought along with her when the Tahsildar was explanining about the problems in her case. The alert staff of the Tahsildar office and locals shifted her to area hospital in Suryapet for treatment.
After the incident, Suryapet Revenue Divisional Officer Mohan Rao informed that Natala Padma did not have any land at Survey Number 964 and in the 2009, her brother Venna Narsi Reddy, in his declaration, informed that neither he nor his sister Padma had land in the respective survey number. Condemning the act, the RDO said one cannot turn a lie into truth by trying to commit suicide.
