Suryapet: Woman throws two children into river after fight with husband

A woman has thrown her two children into a river after a fight with her alcoholic husband. The incident occurred at Singireddypalem of Penpahad Mandal of Suryapet district.

Getting into details, Nagamani got married Prashanth, a native of Hyderabad 10 years ago and the couple has a daughter Jyothi Madhavi (9) and son Harshavardhan (6). In recent times, Prashanth got addicted to alcohol and is frequently quarrelling with his wife. The duo again had a quarrel on Sunday following which Nagamani moved out of the house along with her children.

The woman planned to end her life along with her children. She then threw her two children into the river and did not dare to commit suicide. On noticing Nagamani crying on the river bank, villagers informed the police.

The police during the inquiry found Harshavardhan's body floating on the water. Upon the detailed inquiry, the police launched a hunt to trace the body of Madhavi. The arrested Nagamani and registered a case.
