Take action to avoid maternal, infant deaths: Nirmal Collector M Prashanthi

Nirmal: District Collector M Prashanthi told the medical and health officers to take necessary action to avoid maternal and infant deaths, at a review meeting at the Collector's conference hall here on Friday.

She reviewed primary health centres in the district from April 2019 to November 15, 2019 on maternal and infant deaths in the district.

The Collector told the doctors to pay special attention to prevent infant deaths.

The District Medial and Health Officer reported that five maternal and 140 infant deaths took place in the district and the Collector reviewed them.

She enquired about the maternal deaths that took place in Dhani of Sarangapur mandal, Kishanraopet of Mamda mandal, Bangalpet of Nirmal town and Donepalli of Kuntala mandal, and the maternal death under the limits of primary health centre of Velmal Bopparam village of Soan mandal.

Collector Prashanthi ordered the officials that every case related to maternal deaths must be filed and recorded what action was taken.

And also told to take necessary action to prevent maternal and infant deaths in the district.

District Medical and Health Officer Dr Vasanth Rao, District Immunization Officer Dr Karthik, Dr Swarna Reddy, supervisors and others were present.
