Take precautionary measures to prevent dengue: District Collector D Divya
Adilabad: District Collector D Divya asked the people to take precautionary measures to prevent dengue and viral fevers, while speaking at a programme in Adilabad on Tuesday.
The Collector said that she came to know about several cases of dengue and viral fever were registered in the district and advised the people to control mosquitoes with a few measures inside and outside of their houses like removing water coolers with water, water-filled tyres, trash bins etc, where mosquitoes will lay eggs. If the people cannot remove containers with water, then she suggested them to mix two drops of sweet oil in that water.
If people found symptoms like body temperature, headache, rash on skin etc, which could be the symptoms of dengue fever, should consult doctors immediately, she said. They can admit in government hospitals for further treatment, she added.
There is no medicine to prevent dengue fever and can avoid the fever only by preventing mosquito bites during both day and night. She wanted the rural people to consult medical officer in PHCs, who will guide them.
The Collector told the people not to believe rumours that high temperature is dengue fever and dengue fever can be diagnosed with Elisa test only. She told the people not to become panic and could get treatment in hospital. She asked the people to avoid outside food and water and to drink boiled water to avoid typhoid fever.
