Take steps to end RTC strike: Bhatti to KCR
Hyderabad: Leader of Congress in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao take steps to end the RTC strike.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Bhatti wanted the Chief Minister not to privatise the routes. The government has been misleading the people and courts on the financial status of RTC.
He said that the objective of formation of Telangana State was to ensure proper distribution of assets to all in a just manner. It was dangerous to give away the assets being built by the people to private persons.
It was not correct on the part of the government to give away the public assets to the private people rather than protecting them so that future generations could enjoy them. The Congress strongly opposes the decision to privatise 5,100 routes.
He pointed out that public transport system was started by the erstwhile Nizam of Hyderabad State. Later, it has transformed into APSRTC. The Congress has developed the organisation to serve the transport needs of people at cheaper costs.
