Talasani releases 1 lakh prawn seed into Paler reservoir

Khammam: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited Khammam district on Sunday. He along with State Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar participated in many development works in the district.

Earlier in the day, the Ministers released one lakh prawn seed in the Paler reservoir at Paleru. Later, they also distributed 13 sheep units to thirteen beneficiaries, worth Rs 1.25 lakh each unit. They attended a meeting at Paleru.

Speaking on the programme, Srinivas Yadav said it was only Telangana government which implemented a number of welfare schemes.

He said funds were released for the development of fisheries and prawns. He said Rs 85 lakh were sanctioned for the constructions of fisheries research centre at Paleru town.

He said the State government was giving more funds for the development of caste-based occupations. Transport Minister Puvvada Ajya Kumar said the government would release more funds for the development of Paler reservoir.

The construction of Sita Rama Lift irrigation project in the district would help provide irrigation in the district.

District Collector R V Karnan explained the development activities under the Department of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry in the district.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Lingala Kamal Raju, Paleru MLA K Upender Reddy, Khammam Mayor Papalal, ZP Vice- Chairman Dhana Laxmi and other officers and public representatives were present.
