Karimnagar: Dimamding immediate repair of city roads damaged due to incessant rains, TDP leaders staged protest in front of the Collectorate on Tuesday.

TDP district unit president KAgaiah demanded the government to take immediate steps for repairing the main and interlinking roads that were damaged due to downpour that was witnessed during the past few days.

Speaking on the occasion, Agaiah alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao boasted that he would develop Karimnagar city London and New York but even after completion of six years of his rule there are no signs of any such development in the city.

The TRS party and its leaders are deceiving the people with hollow promises and are least bothered to solve the issues the people are suffering from. Even a small amount of rainfall drowns roads and makes it hard for commuters to reach their homes and offices.

Especially the roads at Telangana Chowk circle, Housing Board Chowrasta, Kaman road, Ramnagar and Rampur areas are in worse condition. In every division and colony, due to improper designing of roads and faulty construction of drainages cause drainage water flowing on to roads giving horrible experiences to the people. Even then officials concerned are not in a mood to take up either patch or repairing works, he added.

He demanded the government to take up repairing works immediately for the convenience of the people. Otherwise, he said, TDP would intensify the agitation to teach the TRS government a fitting lesson.

Later, the TDP leaders gave a representation to the district Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed in his chamber.

TDP leaders Ravinder, Wajid Khan, Srinivas, Vineets, Narasimha Chary, Shekar, Rajesh, Rajesham, Haigreeva Chary, Narendar, Dattu, Chandraiah and Azhar joined the protest.
