TDP meet ends up in chaos in Hanamkonda

Hanamkonda: Absolutely in shambles was the first combined Warangal district meeting of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) held here on Thursday, a day after the party's mainstay for the last few years Revuri Prakash Reddy switched over to BJP. It was all chaos at the party office here with the leaders aspiring to be at the helm of party affairs in the district trying to take control over the press conference.

Speaking to media persons after the altercation was subsided, Warangal Rural district president Gannoju Srinivasa Chary said that the leaders, who hung around with the party during its heydays, crossing over to other parties with vested interests, however, it doesn't affect the party in anyway.

'Leaders may have betrayed but the cadre is still intact with the TDP, and we will continue to fight for the distressed sections. It's time for the cadres to put up a stern fight against the TRS government, which failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people in last five years.' The party has plans to organise a Maha Dharna demanding the government to fulfill its promise of constructing double bedroom houses for the poor, he said. Referring to the senior leaders switching over to other parties, Srinivasa Chary said that party leaders will sit together and decide future course of action.

TDP Mahabubabad district president K Ramachander Rao said that they have nothing to worry even though some leaders have left the party. Party is strong in all constituencies of the erstwhile Warangal district and all that the leaders have to do is to put disputes to rest and work for the party.

He criticised the TRS government for ignoring the plight of farmers, who have been taking to streets demanding adequate supply of urea. The TDP will expose the misdeeds of the TRS government, he added.

Former MLA Bandi Pullaiah said that TDP founded by charismatic NT Rama Rao gave new political direction to the Telugu people. Later, N Chandrababu Naidu changed the face of the State by promoting IT sector, he added. 'Despite party's debacle in the recent Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Chandrababu Naidu is untired of working for the people. Only those leaders, who are power-hungry, are leaving the party,' and he alleged that KCR's family was mired in corruption.

Party's State Organising Secretary Gattu Prasad Babu said that need of the hour is to strengthen the party from grass-root level. An action plan would be chalked out in the September 7 meeting at Hyderabad, he said.

Jangaon constituency coordinators A Mahender, Jatoth Indira, Bhukya Sunitha Mangilal, Venkatesh Naik, Md Raheem, Hanmakonda Sambaiah, Kampa Vinod, Margam Sarangam, Baba Khader Ali, Mansoor Hussain, Y Venkateshwarlu, Ch Naveen, M Janardhan Rao, Satyanarayana, A Vidyasagar Rao, B Prabhakar, G Eashwara Chary and Manohar were among others present.
