Teenage girl, married man ends life in Mancherial after elders refuse their marriage

A teenage girl and a married man who fell in love with each other have committed suicide after their parents rejected their marriage proposal. The duo identified as Srividhya (18) and Venkatesh (30) consumed pesticide on the outskirts of Rasoolpalli in Jaipur mandal on Wednesday.

According to Jaipur SI K Vijender, Srividhya, an intermediate second-year student and Venkatesh, a car driver were in a relationship for some time. Meanwhile, Srividhya's parents opposed her relation with Venkatesh who has two sons aged below eight years.

Unable to take their separation, the two consumed pesticide and committed suicide. While Venkatesh died on the spot, Srividhya died while being shifted to a hospital.

The girl is said to have befriended Venkatesh when she visited her maternal uncle's place in Godavarikhani to attend a function. Their bodies were shifted to a government hospital in Mancherial.
