Telangana: 5 policemen suspended in AK 47 theft case

Five policemen were suspended on the charges of negligence in the AK 47 theft case that took place in 2017. The five policemen were worked at Husnabad police station when the two firearms including AK 47 were stolen.

The firearms were stolen by a shepherd D Sadanandam (38), who sneaked into the police station in March 2017 and made away with a carbine gun and an AK 47. Following the theft, an enquiry was ordered and a case was registered in 2018. However, the theft came to light when a shepherd opened fire at his neighbour on February 7.

Ch Rameshwar, Assistant commissioner of police, Siddipet arrested the shepherd Sadanandam and launched an enquiry. He submitted a detailed report in the case to the higher officials based on which orders have been issued on the suspension of five policemen including Husnabad SI M Sanjay. All five were in duty when the theft occurred.
