Telangana: Accused in Samatha case produced before fastrack court
Three accused in the rape and murder of Samatha has been produced before the fastrack court after their judicial custody ended today. The accused Shaik Babu, Maqdum, Shabouddin were shifted to court from Adilabad jail.
On the other hand, the bar association has decided not to argue in favour of the accused and it was brought to the notice of the district magistrate. As no advocate has come forward to deal with the case, the government may appoint a lawyer for the accused.
It is believed that the fastrack court might increase the judicial custody of the accused.
The Komaram-Bheem police filed the 150-page charge-sheet in the case on Saturday and submitted the report to the court. The report contains the statements of the witnesses including villagers, labourers who traced the body and the doctors.
The woman, a native of Khanapur in the Nirmal district was gang-raped and killed on November 24 in Lingapur mandal of Komaram-Bheem district. The incident occurred three days before the rape and murder of the veterinary doctor in Hyderabad.
