Telangana Assembly Budget session: Governor addresses house, says govt. working for development
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that the standard of living in the villages of Telangana has improved, thereby becoming an example for the country. During the commencement of Telangana Budget-2023 meetings on Friday. She addressed both Houses at the Assembly Hall in Public Gardens and read out her speech.
She started her speech with Kaloji's poem. Stating that Government is continuously working for the development of Telangana, governor said that the government has overcome many challenges abd brought the 24 hours and per capita consumption of electricity has increased to a record level. "In the past there were fights for water, now we are providing water for 24 hours by restoring the ponds with Mission Kakatiya; we provide good water to every house through Mission Bhagiratha and completed the Kaleshwaram project in record time," she said.
The governor said that government has brought Dalit Bandhu for the development of Dalits increased ST reservation to 10 percent and the Thandas were converted into Panchayats. She said government is supporting the poor with Asara pensions, providing life insurance through Netanna Bima Scheme, implementing 15 percent reservation in wine shops for the welfare of gouds, cancelled the tax on palm and ita trees providing free electricity up to 250 units for laundry and salons, implementing 33 percent reservation for women in civil police jobs, financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,116 provided to girls under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak.
"The government has made significant progress in the agricultural sector and taking many measures for the welfare of farmers, providing farmer insurance, purchasing grains," Governor said adding that government is simultaneously filling up 80,000 jobs in various departments apart from 1,41,735 jobs recruited from 2014 to last year. She said there are multispecialty hospitals all over Hyderabad.
