Hyderabad: BJP Telangana State chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao has condemned the pre-emptive arrests of BJP leaders across the State.

In a statement on Monday, he said that as a responsible opposition party, "It's our duty to voice the concerns of common people who are being fleeced by TRS government with unprecedented electricity bills". The compounded electricity bills are both faulty and bloated. It's atrocious that KCR government is trying to fleece citizens in the midst of a serious health and economic crisis.

He said that his party demands waiver of the last three months' electricity bills, especially to the poor and middle class in Telangana, owing to occupational and income disruptions faced by them during the lockdown period. Rao warned the TRS government to not use police force to undermine constitutional rights of the opposition parties in the State. BJP was planning to protest peacefully following Covid-19 regulations and it did not warrant pre-emptive house arrests of our leaders, he added.
