Telangana: Bonalu festivities kick off at a temple in Golconda

The state festival Bonalu began on a grand note at Golconda with the devotees thronging to the Jagadamba temple to offer 'Bonam' on Thursday.

The 'Palaharam' procession started from Tolichowki with hundreds of woman carrying the Bonam. As per the custom, they halted at the house of Golconda priest who then carried the 'Ghatas' to the temple.

The priest offered the Ghatas to the goddess marking the onset of the Bonalu festivities across twin cities.

Bonalu festival is being held in the month of July and August, but it will get wrapped up by July i.e, Ashadam in the twin cities.
