Telangana CM KCR sounds alarm over second wave of coronavirus

Hyderabad: In the wake of sudden spike of positive cases of coronavirus in various parts of the country, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday cautioned people about the threat of second wave of Covid-19.

KCR appealed to them to maintain personal safety and not to lower the guard. The CM said the Government on its part was taking all necessary measures to handle the situation but unless people cooperate and strictly follow the health protocols, there is every possibility of a second wave. He appealed to people not to go out without masks and also ensure that the nose and mouth was properly covered. All over the State, 10,000 beds with oxygen facility are kept ready.

The Chief Minister said one must be extremely careful till the vaccine becomes available for all. He said once the vaccine becomes available, it would be first given to the frontline warriors - the healthcare workers.

He said there is a sudden surge of cases in Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and the cases are slightly on the rise in Kerala and Karnataka. He instructed the state authorities to be alert and should be in a position to tackle the second wave of Covid.
