Telangana Congress leader booked for defrauding businessman of Rs 15 L
A case was registered against Telangana Congress leader Gajjela Kantham for allegedly defrauding a businessman to the tune of Rs 15 lakh. It is learned that the leader promised the businessman to offer Haritha Haram contract in 2016.
Though the case was booked against him on August 1, 2019, it came to light on Friday. Based on the complaint registered by the businessman Vijay Kumar, who involved in import and export of saplings, the police registered the case against G Venkateshwarlu and Gajjela Kantham.
Vijay Kumar gave Rs 15 lakh to Gajjela Kantham on a surety that the money will be returned if he did not get the contract, it is learned. But after getting the money, the accused avoided him.
However, when Vijay decided to deposit a cheque given by Kantham in the bank, the bank officials said that the signatures did not match. After realising that he was duped, Vijay lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police.
