Telangana Coronavirus tally crosses 10,000 mark
Hyderabad: Telangana has crossed the grim milestone of 10,000 positive cases with a record day spike of 891 new cases on Wednesday. Interestingly both Telugu states-Telangana and Andhra Pradesh crossed the ten thousand cases mark on the same day on Wednesday. For the first time more than four thousand sample tests were done and almost one in four samples tested positive.
Also, five people have died taking the total death toll so far to 225. GHMC contributed 719 among the fresh cases while Ranga Reddy reported 86 and Medchal 55 new cases. Bhadradri and Khammam also reported new cases with 22 districts in the state reporting fresh cases. More than 2000 Covid patients are in home isolation in GHMC limits after being found to have mild symptoms.
A message went viral on various media that Devara Mallappa, chairman of Telangana State Trading Corporation, who joined Gandhi on June 18 after testing positive, left the hospital after four days of treatment. It was said that he was not satisfied with treatment and joined a corporate hospital.
However, Gandhi superintendent Dr Raja Rao said that the news of Devara Mallappa not satisfied with treatment was not true. " He is having some gastric issues and first got admitted to AIG. After Covid test showed positive he shifted to Gandhi.
But his main concern was Gastric treatment and not corona and wanted to go back to a corporate hospital and left," he said. Meanwhile, India Tuberculosis Report 2020 was released by Union Health ministry on Wednesday. Telangana recorded 71,482 cases while the all India notified figure was 24.04 lakh in 2019.
