Telangana: COVID-19 survivor develops AI-based screening system
Telangana: Punna Reddy, a COVID19 survivor, has developed an artificial intelligence-based screening system that identifies people with high temperature and face mask violators in less than a minute. The system has already been installed at Secunderabad and Hyderabad Railway stations.
Punna Reddy said, "I came to India as part of my business visit and tested positive for coronavirus, after which I spent 17 days at a hospital. We came up with this solution that can scan up to 30 people in a second"
Ch. Rakesh, CPRO South Central Railway said, "Screening of passengers with help of thermometers would have taken a lot of time. This system will help us handle more number of passengers in less time. We're introducing it at major stations and will consider it for other stations too".

Earlier, the technology department of Telangana police department came up with a solution of using AI as to implement the compulsory wearing of face mask in public.
Despite the tireless effort from the police to ensure that the individuals strictly follow the lockdown rules in Telangana, but the wearing of face mask in public was more violated.
The new software tool is connected to CCTV cameras that are installed across the city to identify people who violate face mask rule.
The cameras will flag people who are not wearing the masks and send an alert to the central command control centre at the state police headquarters. Later the alert will be passed on to patrolling personnel to trace the rule violators.
The total COVID-19 positive cases in Telangana rose to 4,111. Yesterday around 200 people have been reported as coronavirus positive. According to the state health ministry, the death toll in Telangana stands at 156 after 11 people died in the last 24 hours.
