Telangana government enhances Kalyana Lakshmi amount for disabled women

The Telangana government has enhanced the Kalyana Lakshmi amount for the disabled women to Rs 1,25,145. Burra Venkatesham, secretary of the BC welfare department has issued the orders.

The enhanced 25 percent of the amount is to be paid to eligible beneficiaries under the scheme. Currently, the government is providing Rs 1,00,116 to low-income families who are deprived of performing marriages of their girl children.

The government has decided to enhance the amount based on the verdict of the Supreme Court that the disabled have to get 25 per cent of the additional benefits than the usual beneficiaries under various schemes.
