Telangana Government inks pact with leading food sector companies

Hyderabad: The State government signed various Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with leading food sector companies related to the investments in the food sector during the day long ‘Food Conclave’ held in the city on Saturday. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Minister for IT and Industry KT Rama Rao said, “the MoUs signed would generate 58, 458 jobs in the food sector industry.”

The food conclave is going to be held annually now onwards, he said. He further stated that most of the deals signed are related to the dairy and agro processing industries. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the conclave, he said, “The aqua hubs would be coming up across the State, wherever major reservoirs are located. Fresh water fish and shrimp will be reared in the cage culture itself. For instance, RajaRajeshwar Sagar 26 TMCs, Mallanasagar 50 TMCs, Kondapochamma Sagar 15 TMCs of water, is where these would be coming up.”

In the rural hinterland of Telangana, there is a potential for aqua hub wherever these new reservoirs are located, he said. He further added that all five revolutions have potential to create employment opportunities and wealth in the State. The MoUs signed by various companies converging five revolutions will be establishing their units in various districts of the State. During the day-long conclave, 27 MoUs have been signed, mostly related to the yellow revolution.
