Telangana government sets ball rolling to create more jobs, bring in investments

Hyderabad: Industries Department would work in tandem with Rural Development, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture departments to attract more investments in the food processing sector and also create employment opportunities in the state. This was announced by Industries Minister KT Rama Rao during a review meeting with the Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav, Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao and Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy on Tuesday.

Rama Rao said that there was huge potential in the food processing industry and asked the officials to focus on this. KTR said that the construction of various reservoirs and irrigation projects across the state helped create a lot of opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors.

The minister said that the Animal Husbandry department has taken up many innovative programmes, which have created economic stability in rural areas. He assured to provide complete assistance in the welfare programmes introduced by the Animal Husbandry department in the future. He said that the water revolution in Telangana has increased the production of fish and meat in the state.

Ministers opined that welfare schemes such as fishlings and sheep distribution has been creating lakhs of employment opportunities in the rural areas. Ministers also opined that the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries and Industries departments need to work in coordination which will lead to better synergies.

Srinivas Yadav said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao earlier launched sheep distribution and fishlings distribution programmes to strengthen traditional occupations to boost the rural economy in Telangana. He also said that no other state government in India was taking up such innovative programs for the welfare of the people.

The minister further said that the Telangana government took up the sheep distribution programme prestigiously and also allotted Rs 5,000 Crores for its implementation.

Dayakar Rao said that Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department would provide complete assistance in the construction of farm ponds in the rural areas to boost self-employment opportunities.
