Telangana government spending 1.8 lakh per annum per dialysis patient: Eatala Rajender
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is spending Rs 1.8 lakh per year on each of the 10,000 patients availing Dialysis in various State hospitals and health centres across the State. Presently, free dialysis is being done in 45 centres. However, there is a demand to establish more and health department would examine the requirement and take a call, Health Minister Eatala Rajender said while speaking in the Question Hour in Legislative Council on Wednesday.
He stated that to ensure lesser waiting time for patients, they would take steps to procure more machines and additional staff in the coming months. He said that patients suffering from Kidney ailments are increasing year by year because of BP and Sugar issues.
MLC Subhash Reddy, who raised this question, stated that non-payment of TA, DA is making doctors show reluctance to these duties. In response, Eatala said that he would ask authorities to look into it and resolve it.
