Telangana Government to observe Bharat Bandh

Hyderabad: The state government has decided to enforce complete bandh on Tuesday as a part of emphatic Bharat Bandh call given the farmers who have been agitating in Delhi in protest against the three new farm laws passed by the Centre.

This bandh is set to affect services across various sectors in Telangana. Minister for IT and MAUD K T Rama Rao will be leading the agitation by staging along with senior party leaders at Burgula Gale Farooq Nagar mandal near Shadnagar on Bangalore Highway.

According to party sources, TRS senior leader and MLC K Kavitha will join the dharna in Nizamabad. All the ministers, senior leaders and MLAs have been asked to take out rallies and organise sit-in programmes on national highways in their respective districts in a big number.

Party activists will lay siege to the national highways till afternoon. Telangana Farmers' Coordination Committees will lodge their protest opposing the farm laws and will demand MSP for all agriculture produce.

The Telangana Non-Gazetted Employees Organisation (TNGO) will also extend support to the state government in the fight against the Centre's anti-farmer policies.

Traders have announced that they would keep their shutters down until 12 noon on Tuesday. While banks would continue to function, autorickshaws will be off the roads.

The TSRTC decided not to operate bus services till noon. Emergency services like hospitals, diagnostic outlets, sanitation and drinking water supply systems will function as usual. Osmania University authorities said that the revised schedule for the conduct of the postponed exams will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police issued a traffic advisory asking passengers going to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to utilise ORR. Free passage for emergency services and ambulances will be ensured on all roads. It further stated that commuters are advised to contact Cyberabad Police Control Room: 040-2785 3413, 040-2300 2424, 9490617100 and 8500411111, if there was any difficulty or obstruction en-route under the limits of Cyberabad Commissionerate for assistance.
