Telangana government to spend Rs 300 cr on Bathukamma sarees

Sarees of Rs 300 each will be distributed to the women this year for the Bathukamma festival. The government is going to spend nearly Rs 300 cr for the sarees this year which will be distributed ahead of Dasara festival to the women having white ration cards.

The order has already been placed with Telangana power-loom weavers in Sircilla for 94 lakh Bathukamma sarees which will be completed by August 15.

The government has been distributing the sarees for the two consecutive years. It was launched in 2017. Last year, the distribution of sarees were delayed to the election code for the assembly polls in 2018.
