Telangana Government told to rescue workforce of IT companies: Raja Singh
Hyderabad: BJP floor leader T Raja Singh on Monday demanded the government to come to the rescue of the workforce of IT companies, like security personnel, drivers and other small jobholders, who were facing hardship in the wake of work-from-home facility. Speaking during a discussion on 'growth of industry and IT in Telangana' in the Assembly on Monday, Singh said there was over 12 lakh workforces, like security personnel, drivers and other small holders, working in the IT sector. They were the worst affected because of the pandemic.
"Till now they were dependent on their savings, but now they are facing problems. The government has done nothing to come to their rescue. There is no IT sector without these employees. What is the plan of the minister in this regard," he asked?
The BJP leader took exception to the criticism of the Central government by the TRS leaders. "Everyone from the ruling party is targeting the Centre. I urge the Speaker to have one separate session only for accusing the Centre so that the ruling party can tell how much is not coming and we will tell how much is coming. Every time you are trying to target the Centre, you have your MPs in Parliament, question there… you will get answers," said Singh.
He stated that the Centre has provided financial assistance to the small businessmen. Small street vendors got Rs 10,000; interest rates on loans to industries have been reduced.
