Telangana govt. likely to scrap degree exams 2020
The Telangana government may scrap degree exams 2020. It is learned that the officials of the state council of higher education, in charge Vice-Chancellors, registrars and professors who took part in a meeting with the education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Thursday gave their nod to cancel the exams.
Also, the officials are said to have suggested promoting all the first and second-year exams. So far, five semesters of the degree courses have been completed. On the basis of these results, the students are said to be given the final degree. According to the UGC norms, the classes for the first year degree will begin from September 1 while the second year and final year from August 15.
However, the decision on the scrapping the exams will be taken on the approval of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Special secretary of education department Chitra Ramachandran, Telangana state council of higher education chairman Tummala Papi Reddy, Department of technical and collegiate education commissioner Navin Mittal were present in the meeting.
