Telangana Govt neglecting consumers
Karimnagar: It is unfortunate the Telangana government is not giving importance for creating awareness among the consumers on various kinds of products they use, Rashtra Viniyogadarula Sanghala Samakhya honourable president N Srinivas.
He attended as a chief guest at the Consumer Awareness programme organised under Karimnagar Consumers Samakhya, as part of week-long programmes on the occasion of World Consumers Day at Women's Degree College here on Wednesday. He released pamphlets for creating awareness among the consumers.
Speaking on the occasion, N Srinivas alleged that even though the State government is introducing several welfare schemes, it is not taking initiation for creating awareness among the consumers on the usage of perfect goods.
The government didn't fill the vacant posts in the District Consumer Forum for the past six years, due to which many cases were pending, he added.
District Consumer Samakhya president R Chandrashekar said that from the past 32 years, as many as 9,000 cases were filed in the Consumer Forum through District Consumer Samakhya and around Rs 20 crores justice is done for consumers.
Samakhya members Prakash, M Gangadhar, P Naga Mohan, Ilaiah, Ramchandra Reddy, Raghuram, Laxman Kumar and College vice-principal G Shankar, faculty members Swapna, Sushma and Kala and students attended the programme.
