Telangana govt. to administer COVID-19 vaccine to 40,095 people in phase-I

Telangana government is planning to administer COVID-19 vaccine to 40,095 people in the phase-I that include healthcare staff from government and private sector and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) staff. Arrangements are on for the vaccine distribution in Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri districts in the phase-I.

As many as 65 freezers are being arranged to store the vaccine in the two districts which will be given to the healthcare staff beginning from primary health care centres. Rooms to set up the freezers are being identified near hospitals for now.

It is learned that the vaccine will be administered to 100 staff members in each healthcare centre. Around 146 health centres are identified in Medchal and Malkajgiri district and 60 in Rangareddy.

On the other hand, a total of 8,240 healthcare staff has been identified from the government sector and 31,855 in private sector in both the districts.
