Telangana govt. to refund two-month pay cut of TSRTC employees

Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday announced his decision of refunding 50 per cent of pay cut of TSRTC employees that was deducted for two months in the view of pandemic and directed the finance department to release Rs 120-130 crore on an immediate effect.

The CM said that he would soon take a decision on the job security of RTC employees soon. This comes after the Chief Minister held a meeting with the senior officials on RTC at Pragati Bhavan.

The Chief Minister also congratulated the RTC officials on reaching the parcel service business to one million. He then directed the RTC managing director Sunil Kumar to restore 50 per cent of buses in the city. It is known that the RTC has been operating 25 per cent of bus services due to the pandemic.

Some employees of TSRTC had received single-digit salaries while many got the payment less than Rs 1000 for June month which sparked outrage among the employees. Protests were staged by the employees in certain parts of the state.
