Telangana High Court on Thursday sought a clarity from the state government on the death of coronavirus patient Madhusudhan. The court asked the government if the patient was actually dead and why the patient's family was not informed of his death.

Madhusudhan, a resident of Hayath Nagar has succumbed to coronavirus on May 1, a day after his father's death who also died of coronavirus. Twenty days after his death, Madhusudhan's wife suspected a foul play in her husband's death and reported the matter to minsiter KT Rama Rao. She also questioned the authorities as to why death certificate of husband has not given yet.

It may be known that Madhusudhan's family who were also infected with the virus was undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital when the patient died. As the family could not attend the funeral and none of their relatives have come forward to held the last rites, the GHMC officials are said to have held the last rites without informing the family members.

Minister for Health Eatala Rajender had also explained that it was second death in the family due to coronavirus which might leave the family in shock. Considering their health, Madhusudhan's wife and children were not informed, the minister said adding that they were also not in a position to keep the dead body in mortuary.

Dissatisfied over the explanation, Madhavi filed a petition in the High Court seeking clarity on her husband's death. The matter was adjourned to June 5.
