Telangana High Court chides govt. over low Coronavirus tests

Telangana High Court on Thursday chided the government for turning dear ear on the court's order over low covid-19 tests. The court directed the government to hold 50,000 tests per day, however, the government continue to conduct low tests.

The government submitted a report on the court's order which stated that it would increase the tests to 50,000 when needed. The court expressed dissatisfaction over the government's report and also questioned as to why there is no action against the private hospital for charging exorbitant bills for covid-19 treatment.

The court said that the state would witness the results of covid-19 second wave after the election the result which would be difficult for the government to handle the situation. The court also issued notices to the director of public health Dr G. Srinivas Rao for violating court's order.

At present, the government is testing over 40,000 samples per day and so far, 52,89,908 tests have been conducted in the state.
