Telangana: Issues of Urdu scribes will be resolved: Kavitha

Hyderabad: Delegation from Telangana Urdu Working Journalists' Federation called on MLC K Kavitha at her residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The delegation comprising Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin, General Secretary, Habeeb Ali Al Jeelani, Joint Secretary, M A Mohsin, Co-convenor Hyderabad City Unit, M A K Faisal Executive Member, and others discussed the long pending issues of Urdu working journalists of Telangana and also presented a memorandum to Kavitha.

They recalled that Urdu has been declared as the scond official language by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. "But the Information and Public Relations department is meting out step-motherly treatment with Urdu Journalists and is being biased in issuing accreditation cards.

Telugu journalists are being issued accreditation cards at the mandal level, but Urdu journalists are deprived of the same," they added. Kavitha responded positively and assured to address all the issues mentioned in the memorandum.
