Telangana issues order to re-open malls, hotels, places of worship from June 8

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Thursday passed the orders to re-open shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and places of worship in the state from June 8. This comes after the Union ministry of home affairs released the fresh guidelines on May 30. However, the movie theatres and gaming centres will remain shut.

The Government Order (GO) permitted to re-open religious places, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services. Meanwhile, educational institutions, metro rail, movie theatres, gymnasiums, swimming pools, parks, sports complexes, bars, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural and religious functions and other large congregations will not be allowed.

On May 31, the government extension of lockdown in containment zones till June 30 and granted relaxations in areas outside containment zones. However, the night curfew will be continued from 9 pm to 5 am across the state. No shops and other establishments, except hospitals and pharmacies, will remain open after 8.30 pm.

Large public gatherings are prohibited. However, marriage related gatherings will be permitted with a maximum of 50 participants. Funeral/last related gatherings will be allowed with a maximum of 20 participants.
