Telangana: Jangaon MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy tests positive for coronavirus

TRS MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy from Jangaon has tested positive for coronavirus and is being treated in a private hospital in Hyderabad.

Reddy has gone to a private hospital after he showed symptoms of coronavirus and was tested positive. After the MLA infected with the virus, party leaders, officials and people who accompanied the MLA to several official events were left in a panic.

The family members of the MLA and around 10 officials are being tested and the reports are awaited. At present, all of them are put in quarantine. District Medical and Health Officer, Dr Mahendar Reddy asked the people who came in contact with the MLA to self-isolate and get the tests done.

It is learned that Muthireddy has participated in Telangana formation day celebrations and the launch of a substation inauguration where he is suspected to have contracted the virus. The house of the MLA in Jangaon is disinfection to prevent further spread of the virus, the officer said.

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan was also quarantined after his driver tested positive for the virus and also the minister is in home quarantine after his PA infected with the coronavirus.
