Telangana CM KCR launches phase VI of Haritha Haram in Narsapur

Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao planted a sapling at an urban park in Narsapur of Medak district as part of Narsapur forest revival programme and kickstarted the sixth phase of Telanganaku Haritha Haram programme.

The sixth phase of Haritha Haram programme is aimed to plant nearly 30 crore plants across the state during the rainy season. The CM also inaugurated the urban forest created in the area of 630 acres.

Chandrasekhar Rao arrived in Narsapur at 12.20 pm and launched the Eco-park in the presence of minister Harish Rao, Indrakaran Reddy and principal chief conservator of forests R Shobha. The Chief Minister planted 'Alla Nerada' plant launching the sixth phase of the programme.

Rao then instructed the officials to develop thick forests everywhere by adopting Miyawaki method and by also establishing nurseries at every 30 kilometres on the highways. The CM said that the state lost 92,000 acres and the Haritha Haram programme launched by the government helped to get back the forest area to some extent. He also said that the development of new forest areas are on cards that will help in preserving the environment.

The Chief Minister has launched the first phase of Haritha Haram on July 3, 2015 by planting a 'Sampangi' sapling at Chilkur. In the first year, 15.93 crores of plants across the state.
