Telangana: Man bludgeons father-in-law to death in Nalgonda
In a horrific incident, a man in an inebriated state killed his father-in-law here at Ramnagar in Nalgonda district on Sunday night.
According to CI Suresh Kumar, the accused, Chintala Gopi, a native of Nandigama in Guntur district has moved to Nalgonda and started a business. He is learned to have been quarrelling with his wife for the past few months over petty issues.
On learning about it, Gopi's father-in-law Venkateshwarlu (45) had come to Ramnagar to settle the conflict between her daughter and son-in-law. On Sunday night, Gopi and Venkateshwarlu consumed alcohol and had a heated argument which further escalated resulting in the death of Venkateshwarlu. Gopi is said to have hit his father-in-law with a mortar in a fit of rage and later shifted him to a hospital where he succumbed to serious head injuries.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's family, the police registered a case and arrested Gopi. An investigation is underway.
