Telangana Movement leader Amos passes away

Hyderabad: Telangana Movement protagonist and senior TRS leader KR Amos passed away on Thursday.

Amos served as an MLC for two terms and was also the president of Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Association. He played a crucial role in the 1969 and during final phases of the Telangana agitation.

He brought the Telangana employees together in the 1969 agitation and continued his struggle for the separate State for four decades.

He was in the Congress party during the agitation and played important role in the persuading the senior leaders of Congress to take a favourable stand on Telangana. He joined TRS after formation of Telangana in June 2014.

TRS working president KT Rama Rao expressed condolences on the death of Amos.

KTR said that Amos raised the voice against the injustice to the Telangana region for four decades and also played his part in the agitation. He said the death of Amos is a big loss to Telangana.

Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy also condoled the death of Amos.
