Telangana police on tenterhooks as Congress leaders call to lay siege Pragati Bhavan
The Telangana Congress party's call to lay siege to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's official residence Pragathi Bhavan put the entire police department on tenterhooks. Police efforts to take senior leaders into preventive custody before they reach Pragati Bhavan proved a futile exercise as several of them were went hiding.
Police were conducting searches to arrest TPCC Working President A Revanth Reddy and senior leaders Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Shabbir Ali but leaders were not present at their residences all also in their offices in Hyderabad.
Huge police forces have already been deployed at pragati Bhavan which caused heavy traffic jam in the morning.
TPCC leader Bhatti Vikramarka and other senior leader Sampath were houses arrested. Another leader Anjan Kumar Yadav has been arrested when he along with his supporters were proceeding toward the BHAVAN.
In the districts also, police took many Congress leaders onto preventive custody in a bid to stop them from moving to Hyderabad.
