Telangana records 60.57% polling for 17 LS seats

Hyderabad: As many as 60.57% polling has been recorded till 5 pm for 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana State on Thursday.

With 68.6% polling Medak Parliamentary constituency was on top while Secunderabad had the lowest voting percentage of 39.2%. The polling percentage in Hyderabad constituency was a mere 39.49%. Bhongir was on second position with 68.25% polling followed by Karimnagar - 68%; Khammam - 67.96%; Zaheerabad - 67.8%; Adilabad (ST) - 66.76%; Nalgonda - 66.11%; Mahabubnagar - 64.99%; Warangal (SC) - 60%; Mahabubabad - 59.9%; Peddapalle (SC) - 59.24%; Nagarkurnool (SC) - 57.12%; Nizamabad - 54.2%; Chevella - 53.8% and Malkajgiri - 42.75%.

As many as 443 candidates were in fray for 17 Parliamentary seats. A total of 34,603 polling stations were set up and nearly 70,000 security personnel were deployed for security.
